5.历史延续并赋予了长城以新的使命：5.1 古老的长城仍是抵御外敌入侵的战场：写入国歌：正是受到长城前线抵抗战争的感召，加之长城伟岸形象在民族危难时期所赋予的精神力量，田汉将长城写入歌词，聂耳为之谱曲，鼓舞人们继续抗争，这就是后来的中华人民共和国国歌。音乐总是充满着神奇的力量，可以舒缓心情享受轻松愉悦，也可以振奋精神催人奋进，作为国家象征的国歌就是后者典型代表。长城的形象不仅树立在大地上，其形象也铭刻在人们心中，甚至在国歌里都有长城的存在。中华人民共和国成立时， 《义勇军进行曲》作为代国歌在开国大典时响起。后来，经历过集体填词的短暂时期后又恢复原词，直至最终正式确定为国歌。田汉在创作以长城抗战为主题的文学剧本时，想到创作以长城为背景的主题歌，写下“把我们的血肉筑成新的长城”这句歌词，聂耳拿到歌曲后完成了谱曲，这就是后来的《义勇军进行曲》。
5. History Has Endowed the Great Wall with a New Mission: 5.1 The Ancient Great Wall Remains a Battleground Against Foreign Invasion: Written into the National Anthem
Inspired by the resistance wars fought at the Great Wall frontline and the spiritual strength its majestic image provided during times of national crisis, Tian Han incorporated the Great Wall into the lyrics, which were then set to music by Nie Er, encouraging people to continue the struggle. This later became the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. Music always possesses a magical power—it can soothe emotions and bring enjoyment, or it can uplift spirits and inspire action. As a national symbol, the national anthem represents the latter. The image of the Great Wall is not only etched into the land but also engraved in people's hearts, even finding a place in the national anthem.
When the People's Republic of China was founded, The March of the Volunteers was played as the provisional national anthem during the founding ceremony. Later, after a brief period of collective lyric revision, the original lyrics were restored, and it was ultimately officially designated as the national anthem. While creating a literary script centered on the Great Wall's resistance against invasion, Tian Han conceived the idea of composing a theme song with the Great Wall as its backdrop. He wrote the line, "With our flesh and blood, let us build our new Great Wall." Nie Er, upon receiving the song, composed the music, giving birth to what later became The March of the Volunteers.
